so I saw david cook(winner of american idol season 7) yesterday

Friday morning came and I was soo excited. I managed to get a little homework done before my class at 2:30pm. I barely could pay attention in class. Got out of class decided to go check and see if I could find the tour bus. I found it, but there were about 20 people around so I went to mcdonalds and then came back to my dorm. After eating, I talked to my mom and then I was going to try to do some homework. I couldn’t concentrate on my homework so I decided to go get in line. By this time it was about 5:30pm. After meeting some nice people and dealing with a few witches and killing 3 hours listening to David on my ipod, the doors opened. I went in and ended up getting stuck right by the speaker. I thought it was going to be horrible, but it turned out amazing cuz when I scooted up to the edge of my seat and leaned on the speaker I was able to get some amazing pics. Ryan Star came on about 9:30pm and he was pretty good. His songs were really eclectic. They were so different from each other. He played until 10pm. Due to some technical difficulties David didn’t come on until about 10:40pm. The set list consisted of Heroes, Mr. Sensitive, Did It For You, Life on the Moon, Declaration, Avalanche, Come Back to Me, Permanent, Kiss on the Neck, Breathe Tonight, Light On, Man In the Box (cover) and Bar-Ba-Sol. Permanent was my favorite performance of the night. For those of you that don’t know, David wrote that song for his older brother Adam who is battling a brain tumor. It was soo full of raw emotion on David’s part that the crowd was absolutely silent. It was amazing. Bar-Ba-Sol was awesome live too. After Bar-Ba-Sol the crowd chanted and David came back on and said “there may be 53 shows on this tour but this one will always be special because it’s our first encore.” Then they played Daily Anthem and it was over. After the crowd thinned out a bit I made my way over to the merch table to buy a shirt. Then I met Ryan Star. After that I made my way out back to where the tour bus was. There were tons of people around so I decided to go to the union and get breakfast for a buck. I got my food and headed back out to the bus. A Tallahassee cop tried to get us all to leave by telling us that David had already left, but we all knew that that was a big fat lie. Soon it started to rain, but since I had my poncho I decided to wait a little longer. Soon David did come out and this lady asked me if I wanted to get up there to get his autograph and I said yea so she yells out to David that there was a girl in a wheelchair back here and he made everyone move so I could get through. I handed him the marker and was able to angle my wheelchair enough that he could reach through the bars of the barricade and sign my chair then we got a picture together. After that I put my poncho back on cuz I had taken it off for the picture and went back to the dorm. I got back at 1am and didn’t go to bed until 2:45pm. It didn’t matter anyway, because I didn’t sleep because my brain wouldn’t stop singing all his songs.

Needless to say, the concert was amazing. I’m still in awe of everything that happened. David is so adorable and sweet. He must of thanked us for everything about 20 times during the concert and then to come out of the bus in the rain to sign autographs. All that on top of singing Permanent, which is really emotional for him. Seriously, I don’t know how he manages to get through that song, much less sing it for all 53 stops on the tour.

I think I’ve fallen in love with yet another band/artist. I haven’t felt this way since I first discovered RJA
