My mom didn't seem too oposed to it. And I just told my dad about it yesterday, and he seems open to the idea. So it's looking good. =] I'm hoping on gonig next summer, about mid-june and staying till mid-july.

Thank you so much for the comments! Having someone from the area saying that it's safe will definitely be helpful to convince my parents. =] My mom went to the Philippines years ago to visit her best friend's family, and she told me about how hospitable everyone was. I really look forward to seeing it firsthand. =]
